Invisalign® is an orthodontic system that uses clear plastic molds (aligners) to move and straighten a patient's teeth. The system involves using a computer to simulate the stages that teeth will go through before reaching an ideal position. The plastic aligners are created based on the simulation.

The number of aligners used to straighten teeth varies from patient-to-patient, but it is usually between 18 and 30. Each removable plastic aligner is worn for two weeks at a time and is only removed for meals and teeth cleaning. The entire treatment takes about the same amount of time as traditional braces.
